Chaii Cafe

While interning, I spent time working on a commercial project for an international cafe brand’s newest London location. Known for their specialty cakes and teas with a Middle Eastern influence, we focused on creating an elevated cafe experience. I focused on drawing AutoCAD floor plans and elevations, selecting finishes, and rendering in Photoshop.

This banquette seating balances elements of warmth and comfort, while remaining in harmony with the surrounding restaurant. The copper passage way and over bar feature was inspired by traditional kettles and Moroccan architecture. The plush leather seats are the perfect place to catch up with a friend over a cozy cup of chai.

The client requested an “instagrammable moment” to be included to generate viral opportunities for this social media driven market. Inspired by the markets of the Middle East and North Africa, these branded spice barrels bring texture and playfulness to the space. I wanted to play with the international- ity of the cafe’s brand with the inclusion of copper clocks in featuring different locations’ time zones.

Here is a rendered floor plan I completed to represent the different finishes and materials used throughout the floor plan of the cafe.
